Automated data extraction from design documents for analysis

Purpose

1.1. Automate extraction of key metadata, schedules, room data, and material specifications from architectural design documents (PDF, CAD, BIM).
1.2. Enables automated aggregation, structured reporting, and data-driven design analysis without manual re-entry.
1.3. Facilitates automated workflows for compliance, client reporting, and speedy design iterations by automating data mining from project files.
1.4. Automates integration of extracted data into downstream systems (spreadsheets, databases, project management, BIM coordinators).

Trigger Conditions

2.1. New design document uploaded to project folder (local or cloud storage).
2.2. Scheduled interval for automated batch analysis (e.g., nightly scan of all design files).
2.3. Manual trigger via project management app (e.g., clicking “Automate Data Extraction” in dashboard).
2.4. Automated trigger on file version update or architectural milestone completion.
