Automated procurement of previous imaging/history for comparison

Purpose

1.1. Automate the retrieval of previous imaging studies and patient histories across systems to allow for immediate comparisons when new imaging orders arrive.
1.2. Automator triggers request/receive workflows, reducing manual workload and accelerating review by radiologists.
1.3. Ensures automated delivery of comprehensive medical context, raising diagnostic accuracy and supporting compliance.
1.4. Automates cross-institutional image pulls, EHR requests, and PACS lookups to create a seamless, automatable history compilation.

Trigger Conditions

2.1. New imaging order generated in EMR or RIS
2.2. Automated radiology scheduling of specific modalities (e.g., MRI, CT)
2.3. Referral received from external provider
2.4. Radiologist request for history comparison—manual trigger
2.5. Patient schedule update—appointment confirmed or rescheduled
