Integration of lab results into animal records

Purpose

1.1. Ensure animal health records are promptly updated with external lab result data for accurate diagnosis, care, regulatory compliance, and communication with vets and adopters.
1.2. Eliminate manual re-entry/errors, streamline veterinarian workflows, provide real-time status updates, and facilitate reporting and analytics on animal health trends.
1.3. Automate secure data exchange between diagnostic labs and shelter information systems, covering all common lab result formats (PDF, HL7, FHIR, plain text, attachments).

Trigger Conditions

2.1. Reception of lab results via email, FTP, API, or secure portal upload.
2.2. Creation or update events in laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
2.3. Identification of animal-specific identifiers (e.g., microchip, intake number) in lab result files.
2.4. New animal record creation in shelter management software, pending lab results.
