GPS-based real-time vehicle tracking and notifications

Purpose

1.1. Enable automatic, real-time GPS tracking of airport shuttle vehicles.
1.2. Automate notifications to fleet managers, drivers, and passengers when location milestones are reached (e.g., approaching pickup/drop-off, delays).
1.3. Support route monitoring and compliance, estimated time-of-arrival notifications, and incident flagging.
1.4. Integrate with existing scheduling, dispatch, safety, and customer communication workflows for holistic fleet oversight.

Trigger Conditions

2.1. Vehicle GPS position enters/exits geofenced zone (e.g., airport terminals, hotels).
2.2. Scheduled pickup/drop-off time approaches or delays detected.
 2.3. Vehicle status changes (e.g., stopped/unexpected deviation/long idle).
2.4. Manual trigger from dispatcher or driver application.

Platform Variants

 3.1. Twilio Programmable SMS
  • Feature/Setting: 'SendMessage' SMS API; triggered when GPS device reports threshold proximity. Example: configure webhook to invoke SMS after geofence entry.
