Backorder management and notifications

Purpose

1.1. Automate real-time tracking, notification, and subsequent management of items that go on backorder in a futon store’s sales process.
1.2. Automate notification of staff and customers upon product stock depletion, backorder entry, vendor reorder necessity, and estimated restock/update status.
1.3. Automator logic ensures all order and inventory channels (POS, eCommerce, ERP) reflect backorder status in sync, eliminates overselling, and initiates communications without manual intervention.
1.4. Automation aids tracking customer satisfaction by proactively informing customers of backorder timeline changes and options.

Trigger Conditions

2.1. Automated trigger when stock level for any SKU drops to zero or defined threshold.
2.2. Automatedly triggers when incoming orders match or exceed available stock for bedding, futons, or mattresses.
2.3. Triggers via API webhook from POS or eCommerce platform on inventory update.
2.4. Automated “order created” or “SKU modified” events in ERP or inventory system.
